Heidi and Dan are amazing host! Beautiful location with quick access to Jemez Springs/Village and Hummingbird Music Camp, the location was very quiet. Quaint little grocery store just steps away. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked with towels and toiletries. La Cueva Lodge will definitely be on my future stay list. Thank you Heidi and Dan, was wonderful meeting the two of you and your grandchildren!

I'm a mover and I stayed here for a week back in 2012 for a job related move. Other than the bed being a little stiff I can't really express how pleasant my experience was staying here. The area is beautiful. It's got a nice nature trail next to it. The best part was just how nice everyone was. The owners, the people from the little restaurant that sells elk burgers, and the convenient store where I shouted Roll Tide at the owner. (then he jokingly said charge me double). Everyone was a joy to talk to and be around. What topped it off was my birthday I spent there. I came in from work that day and found a cake made for me and a little message from the owners. It made my time 1,300 miles away from home a lot better. Also everyone gets a kick out of me telling them I stayed in the Beaver Room.

In mid-October, I was on a long-distance backpacking trip on foot with no car and several days of bad weather coming up. Heidi hooked me up with a same-day reservation at a great price because I didn't have signal in the mountains the day before. It was such a wonderful place to get dry and wait out the weather. I stuck around to help with a community yard sale but Heidi and Dan were so nice that they wouldn't even really let me help! Their hospitality was the boost I needed to finish my trip. This isn't a big chain with lots of employees; It's a real place run by real people. Show them patience and respect, and they'll return it back to you sevenfold.

This place is amazing! You will not find a nicer place this close to the amazing fishing and scenery the Jemez Mountains have to offer. Dan and Heidi went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible. I’d go so far as to say they treated us like family. If you are hoping to experience the Santa Fe National Forest, Vallas Caldera, or Bandolier National Monument, this is the place to stay.

After leaving early morning from Santa Fe & touring all day, we arrived at this lodge. A much needed stay before heading back to ABQ. We thank you, Heidi, for your warm welcome and same day reservation!

I stayed at La Cueva Lodge for an October trip. It was exactly what we needed in the area, and they were very accommodating to our unusual check in check out times. I would highly recommend again and would definitely make a reservation and stay there if I have the opportunity to come back to the area.

I absolutely love this place. It's a great location right on a little creek and next to the main river. Quick access to go up further to explore places like Fenton Lake or Valles Caldera or back down to the bathhouse & village. Basic rooms but all you need for staying in the mountains. You get a little porch area overlooking the creek. If you are looking to have no cell reception and click off, this is a good place to stay.
